UK Annual Pensions Increase – Aon Hewitt

According to figures revealed recently in the Aon Hewitt's DC Index, UK workers are lucky to have their annual pensions increased.

Over the past month, annual pensions of employees in Great Britain, particularly of those aged 30, rose significantly. Currently, their retirement income amounts to £19,656, which is up by £403. This figure, however, is slightly lower than in April 2010 and October 2009, when annual pensions reached £20,307 and £20,992 respectively.

The index also showed that annual income of UK employees aged 60 and over grew insignificantly, with the former having their pensions increased by £48 and £32 accordingly.

Commenting on the figures, Mr. McWilliam of Aon Hewitt, said that it has been the 2nd consecutive month when "employees have seen a welcome boost to their retirement income. Although this is brighter news following months of gloom, it remains important for members to understand the effect that market fluctuations and the broader economic environment can have on their retirement income."
