At a Crossroad of Isas

This week Santander announced they would no longer accept applications for one of their very popular accounts via telephone or online facilities. It is quite disappointing as Santander's Flexible Isa clearly enjoys great popularity. The applicants wishing to apply for Santander’s Flexible Isa at 3.2pc are now required to apply through one of Santander’s branches. Applications submitted through any other channels will not be accepted.
Santander’s Flexible Isa is available to anyone regardless of whether you are an existing customer of Santander or not. However, it is suggested to make an appointment in advance. Any applications already submitted on the phone or online will be honoured.
Not that long ago, Santander’s most popular Isa paying 3.5pc per year was withdrawn.
Luckily for savers, there are still many other options available. Alliance & Leicester offers a similar deal to Santander at 3.2%, The Manchester building society offers cash Isa at 3.01%, while Nationwide and Halifax offer good Fixed rate Isas.
