More Personal Injury Claims Filed to Court

Sweet & Maxwell, a British legal information provider, recently carried out a research that demonstrated an almost 32% increase in the number of claims associated with personal injury, which were filed to UK High Court.
The research examined the figures for the years of 2006-2008. As such, the figures for filed personal injury claims stood at 914 in 2006, and rose by 31.8% to 1,205 in 2008.
The findings come despite the introduction of Compensation Act 2006, which aims to reduce the number of personal injury claims filed to court by imposing registration requirements on companies dealing with this type of claims. Also, the enforcement of the Act resulted in the creation of Ministry of Justice’s claims management regulator.
The research carried out by Sweet & Maxwell also showed that most Brits, who filed claims associated with personal injury in the years of 2006-2008, have been struck by the economic downturn. Insurance companies, in their turn, were more prone to contesting claims these years.

Many would point to this as evidence of the rise of a compensation culture in British society, however any reputable firm, such as claimtime . com will only make claims for legitimate clients. We shouldn't allow statistics such as this to scare us away from making personal injury claims in cases where we deserve justice and compensation
