Drive Rules for Young Drivers Need to Be Tightened – ABI

The Association of British Insurers calls upon the UK government to tighten driving rules for young drivers to reduce death and injuries in car accidents.
In its latest statement, the Association of British Insurers said that one of the key priorities for the car insurance sector in UK is the reduction of injuries and deaths in car accidents. This is especially true for the young drivers, highlighted Otto Thoresen, director general of ABI.
He pointed out that the telematic black box system used by many insurance companies is, definitely, a great way of promoting safe driving, but it is not enough.
The insurance sector cannot do all the work on its own, governmental support is strongly required.
ABI calls on the UK government to toughen the measures for young drivers. Especially, the stricter rules might apply to drink driving, night driving and graduated licencing.
Let's remind that earlier this year the government of the Northern Ireland tightened drink drive rules.
