Over 32 Billion Worth of Investments Made into UK Commercial Property

The latest report by CBRE showed that commercial property investment in the UK in 2011 was only slightly below the 2010 levels.

As such, the total amount of funds injected into this sector stood at 32.5 billion pounds, which compares to 35.7 billion pounds in 2010.

The vast majority of investments were made into London commercial property (8.4 billion pounds out of 32.5 billion).

According to CBRE, the uptick in investment was seen in Q4 2011, to a large extent due to such important deals as the purchase of Green Park in Reading by Oxford Properties and the purchase of 1-3 Berkeley Street by Crosstree Real Estates.

Commenting on the findings, Simon Blake of CBRE, said: "Despite the continuing uncertainty in the Eurozone, the UK commercial property investment market had a healthy 2011 and continues to stand head and shoulders above any other European country in terms of its attraction as an international property investment hot spot."
