UK Is Popular Among Foreign Investors

The latest report published by Ernst & Young, one of the world's largest professional services organisations, suggests that UK is the #1 European destination for foreign direct investment. The country has topped the list for 13 years in a row.

Last year, it rebounded from the economic downturn and obtained investment for 728 projects, which is 7% more than in 2009. Overall, Great Britain took a 19.4% share of all FDI in Europe.

The main source of the FDI in UK is, of course, the USA. The country accounted for 26% of investment in 2010. The most popular sectors in UK economy among foreign investors are business, financial services and software.

Experts at Ernst & Young believe that the country will remain attractive for foreign investors for at least 2 more years as 46% of investors questioned claim they will reinvest in the future. The details of current and future investment trends can be found in the "UK Attractiveness Survey 2011" by Ernst & Young. It is available on the company's official website.
