UK Consumers Lack Life Insurance – Scottish Provident
This trend, according to experts at Scottish Provident, is concerning because it means that a large number of Brits will barely be able to keep a high or at least fair standard of living should the family's breadwinner die or fall ill.
As such, 31% of UK consumers have no safety net. The research showed that only 4 million of Brits will be able to survive on their savings, whereas 17% of respondents will have to turn to credit cards to get enough money for fair living.
Commenting on the results of the survey, Mrs. Susan Barclay, head of marketing department at Scottish Provident, said that consumers should consider getting life assurance as it is very confusing and difficult to look for additional funds should an emergency happen. The situation becomes even more complicated because most of Brits hope nothing unexpected will happen to them.
