UK House Prices Rise Insignificantly in September

An average UK house was priced at 166,256 pounds in September, which is up by 0.1% from the reading in August, says Nationwide.

The latest figures on UK house prices were revealed today by Nationwide.

According to its estimates, house prices in Great Britain rose by 0.1% in September as compared to August 2011, and fell by 0.3% as compared to August 2010.

On a quarterly basis, property values fell in 8 out of 13 British regions, with London remaining the most stable area as usual. Over Q3 2011, however, house prices in London fell 1.9%, which compares to only 0.5% in Scotland and 0.2% in Wales.

Commenting on the findings, Nationwide specialists forecasted that in the coming months house prices in UK will remain stable or will decrease insignificantly. "Providing the UK recovery gradually gathers momentum in the months ahead, we continue to expect house prices to move sideways or to drift modestly lower over the remainder of 2011 and into 2012," said Robert Gardner.
