Asking House Prices in UK Rise by 0.7%
UK asking house prices increase by 0.7% in September as sellers are determined that activity on the market will improve in the run up to Christmas.

According to the report published by one of UK property agencies, published today, on Monday September 19th, asking house prices increased this month.

The average asking prices rose 0.7% and now stand at 233,139 pounds, up from 231,543 pounds in August. This represents a 1.5% from the figures seen at the same time last year.

In the opinion of property experts, such an increase in asking house prices can be explained by the sellers' belief that buyers need to make a purchase before Christmas. Many sellers truly believe that potential homeowners want to "to enjoy their turkey in their new abode," explains Miles Shipside.

However, he highlights that the UK property market is not as flourishing as it was before the economic downturn. In the past three years, house prices rose only by 2.5%, which compares to 16.4% in 2005-2008.
