Beware of Home Burglars This Christmas

In the run up to Christmas, Towergate, UK-based specialist insurance company, warned homeowners against burglars who might steal cash and/or valuable goods.

Commenting on the potential dangers, Mr. Walker, managing director of risk solutions at Towergate, said that Christmas gifts typically increase the cost of home contents, which might exceed the one stipulated in insurance policy. This is why, he claims, UK homeowners need to make sure that their home cover policy is adequate.

Mr. Walker said that "with thousands of pounds worth of tempting presents in your home," he says, "it's essential to not only keep an eye on your locks and security but also ensure that you have adequate protection in place."

Although many British insurers do provide their customers with automatic increase in the level of coverage for Christmas, not all do.
