Aviva Highlights the Importance of Home Insurance

According to experts at Aviva, tent is not the only cover that Brits will need this summer at music festivals.
The company's estimates suggest that around 50% of UK nationals have gone out to music festivals at least once in their lives and that 14% of them have been robbed.
Aviva experts have calculated that an average Brits takes expensive belongings, such as cameras and cell phones, which all together are worth £928. Regardless of whether the items are left in the tent or carried on the festival-goer, they might disappear. Official crime statistics suggests that 30% of thieves prefer pickpocketing, while 60% target tents.
Last summer, an overall of 945 thefts were reported to the police.
Commenting on the importance of insurance, Mr. Cracknell of Aviva said that "At any event with crowds of people all carrying pretty expensive gear there is a risk of crime ... Unless you have additional personal belongings cover on your house insurance your belongings, unfortunately, aren’t covered outside your home."
