Energy Performance Certificates to Offer Better Advice

The UK government recently announced that homeowners, house buyers and tenants will be offered a better and clearer advice on energy efficiency of their homes.
The revised Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) will be easier to understand; also they will offer practical advice on improvements required to increase the efficiency of a property in terms of evergy-saving.
Domestic Energy Assessors - people who actually compile the certificates - will go through additional training so that homeowners can rest assured in the reliability of the information provided.
“The EPC has proved useful in putting the efficiency of our homes at the forefront of our minds, but homeowners can often struggle to know how to act on the advice it gives,” said Stunell in a statement today. That’s why we’re giving it a complete redesign, making it clearer and easier to understand and putting the recommendations for improvements into matters of pounds and pence by showing how much consumers could potentially save on their energy bills," said Andrew Stunnell, UK Communities Minister.
