UK Employment Market Improves – Antal

The latest survey "Global Snapshot" carried out by Antal, international recruitment company, showed that UK jobs market is improving as more and more companies hire professionals and managers.

The survey, which is performed annually since 2009, asked more than 9,000 British companies whether they had open positions for professionals and managers. Overall, 61% of firms said they were hiring. This figure varied according to sectors with 83% of companies in the energy sector recruiting, 82% - in banking and finance, and 75% - in telecoms.

The number of vacancies is expected to further increase in the final quarter of 2010 as more companies plan to recruit.

Unfortunately, the number of companies firing professionals and managers also increased to 32%, from 22% seen in summer.

Other European countries, which demonstrated results close to those of UK, are Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg. USA was also one of the countries, where the proportion of businesses recruiting new staff, reached 66%.
