A research performed by IT recruiter Greythorn revealed that as many as 58% of British IT specialists are determined that their salaries will increase in 2012. They also believe that the number of vacancies will rise next year. This compares to only 17% of IT professionals who are pessimistic about the market prospects, expecting salary and job cuts in 2012.
Commenting on the findings, Mark Gray of Greythorn, explained: "During the crash, many employers put their focus on internal promotion rather than active recruitment in order to keep their heads above water. But employers are now realising failure to invest in the IT function comes with a big long term cost." This is why he is determined that the demand for such specialists will always be strong.
Let us remind that the number of vacancies in the IT sector increased by 45% in the past 12 months, which compares to all other sectors, where the rise constituted less than 30%.
