Which? Wants Radio Switchover to Be Postponed

A lot of hassle recently was caused by switch to digital TV; meanwhile, switchover to digital radio is also worth to be mentioned.
UK-based independent consumer group Which? said that the switchover should be delayed until 70% of consumers listen to digital networks.
Initially, the British government planned to improve the quality of radio by moving it to DAB network, TV network or Internet by 2015 or once 50% of consumers begin listening to digital radio.
Which? experts are determined that 50% is not the best choice. Some radio firms warmly welcomed the report by Which?. One of them, UKRD, said that "the report is a well thought through and serious piece of work, unlike the nonsense that is presently being spewed out by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Ministers would do well to implement its recommendations rather than continue with the shambolic policy they are pursuing."
Should the switchover take place when 50% of radio listening is digital, the remaining 50% of consumers will be left without FM radio and will have no other choice but switch to DAB.
