150,000 Brits Benefit from Digital TV Switchover Helpline

The latest report published by the Digital Switchover Help Scheme (DSHS) suggests that over 350,000 households in Great Britain have already been switched to digital TV. Moreover, approximately 150,000 households have already benefitted from DSHS helpline.

Let us remind that the Digital Switchover Help Scheme aims to simplify this process for old and disabled people who need advice and assistance when it comes to TV equipment upgrade.

According to estimates, by the end of the digital switchover, which is planned for 2012, approximately 7 million Brits will be helped by DSHS, 1 million of which will have new equipment installed.

Mr. White, DSHS chief executive, highlighted that the mission of the programme is to ensure that not a single eligible household in the country is left without digital TV. As such, residents of Bromsgrove are already receiving DSHS information packs that contain information about digital TV and Freeview channels as the switchover in the area will take place in 6 months.
