The First Conveyancing Firms to Obtain CQS Status

The First Conveyancing Firms to Obtain CQS Status

In the very end of February the first UK conveyancing companies underwent assessment by the Law Society and obtained the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) status. These companies are: Martin Elliott & Co Solicitors (Colchester), Boys & Maughan (Kent), Hamers Solicitors LLP (Hull) and PCM Solicitors LLP (London).

Commenting on the achievement of these conveyancers, Ms. Linda Lee, President of the Law Society, said that "these first practices are the flag bearers of the CQS and this recognition of the quality of their service begins a new chapter in the home buying process."

She highlighted that now customers of these companies can be 100% sure in the high quality of conveyancing services they provide.

Mr. Wyatt of Hamers Solicitors LLP, is determined that "this accreditation will help us... to compete in this new market place by offering customers, old and new, a cost effective quality conveyancing service."

It is expected that in the near future more and more companies will undergo assessment by the Law Society and secure a CQS status for themselves.
