More Conveyancers Secure CQS Status in UK

On March, 4th 2011 we have reported that the first solicitors to join the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) were Martin Elliott & Co Solicitors (Colchester), Boys & Maughan (Kent), Hamers Solicitors LLP (Hull) and PCM Solicitors LLP (London).
One month later, the number of accredited firms has grown significantly, while 800 more companies are waiting for their applications to be processed.
The major news, however, is that the first volume conveyancer in England and Wales secured the CQS status. This firm is Barnetts Solicitors.
Commenting on the company's achievement, Mr. Barnett said that he is "delighted to have secured CQS accreditation. Not only is it recognition of the high standards we apply to conveyancing services, it is a signal to home buyers and lenders that we provide that level of service."
He added that now home buyers in the UK have a choice of hiring certified solicitors that offer a standard of excellence or go with all the rest.
Let us remind that the CQS scheme is only available to members of the Law Society that meet certain standards.
