Brits to be Wary of Cheap Conveyancing Services

A number of UK firms have come together to warn British house sellers and house buyers that they should be careful with conveyancing firms offering cheap services.

The companies - Ansons, Dunham Guest & Lyons and Gardner Iliff & Dowding - based in Lichfield and Staffordshire accordingly say that low estimates quoted by certain conveyancing firms are not what customers will actually be charged.

As such, Mr. Willians of Ansons Solicitors says that some of conveyancing firms base their marketing on the belief that consumers only pay attention to low estimates. These low prices on conveyancing services might be due either to the fact that not all fees are included into the estimate or that solicitors/legal executives lack professional knowledge.

Mr. Allan Binns of Dunham Guest & Lyons recommends that buyers/sellers check the total amount quoted by conveyancers rather than only the professional fee. Also, he says that it is better to deal with local solicitors as they are guaranteed to be more qualified when it comes to local knowledge.
