Internet-banking Popular with Brits

A recent research performed by Payments Council, an organisation responsible for setting strategy for UK payment mechanisms.

Now Brits have changed their banking habits, with more and more banks' clients turning to online banking.

As such, an average Brit makes 110 visits to their Internet banking website. Over 25% of respondents said they stay logged on for 24 hours. Almost 80% of Brits who participated in the research said they feel safe using online banking services.

It's interesting to note that 13% of those actively using Internet banking go to their branch in person at least once a week.

Commenting on the findings, Sandra Quinn of Payments Council, said: "Internet banking is fast, convenient and available 24 hours a day - so it's no surprise it's now the nation's favourite way to manage money."

Computer experts, however, remind Brits that they should be very careful about computer security. Recent research showed that 10% of computer users in UK do not know what security software they have installed, while 12% - do not use comprehensive computer protection at all.
