I am concerned that my savings are not earning much interest and considering different options. My friend suggested that we buy an investment property and let it out. So we put our money together for a deposit and get a joint buy to let mortgage. I am a bit apprehensive as I wouldn’t know where to start and if the property market will recover to make it worthwhile. Please help!

Hi Bakirych
I suppose if you trust your friend and are sure that both of you can agree on where and in what to invest in, then, why not? Another thing to consider is a management, how much time everyone is prepared to give, unless of course you will use an agent. And don't forget that new governrmrnt is proposing to introduce 40% capital gain tax! |
