Default Life Insurance and Diabetes

Hi. Me and my other half currently have a Life Insurance to cover our mortgage, but this policy doesn't include Critical Illness. I have contacted our insurance company as I wanted to upgrade our Policy, but was advised that it will not be possible as he has been diagnosed as diabetic. What should we do? Is it the same with all companies or just this one?

Hi Zima
I am a bit diabetic myself, what I mean my diabetes is controlled by diet, I don't take Insulin. I have a life cover with BUPA, but don't know if it depends on what kind of diabetes you have, but I think it is worth checking.
